After 4.5 months, Randy & Anna have come back from their honeymoon. Yes, they left their wedding reception and we haven't seen them since. Off to the Outer Banks for the honeymoon, rent a car and drive to their new little apartment in Washington, DC, and start law school at GW and get a new job. WOW, what an adventure.

Randy, as you will see and hear, was a little disappointed that there were NO SIGNS when he arrived. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT??

Hope this blog finds you all doing well. Can you believe we are already in the last month of the year. WOW...

Mother Nature came into our neighborhood on 12-1-11 with a vengeance. As you will see from the pictures and videos below, we lost trees that were 75-100 years old. The Wood home was without power for 2 days and temps got to 45 in-side the house. Jodi, Max & Lola weathered the storm, but the old man went to T&Cs for a warm sleep-over..... :-) (Thanks T&C)

Hey gang..... Yes, it's Mr. Blogster and I'm impressed to post a blog to remember the OLD DOGs. November is now going to be the official OLD DOG month. There are a couple of OLD DOGs in the WoodFam that celebrate their birth this month... :-)
The Jodi & Scott Wood Family had to say goodbye to 14 year old Addy this week..... :'( Max took Addy inside while Jodi cried her heart out waiting in the parking lot. These animals provide a lot of JOY and MEMORIES in our lives.

It was another great B-day as the Wood sisters and brothers (Todd, we missed you) met this morning for a little brunch at Eggs in the City. Directly across the street is the building that Fernwood Candy & Ice Cream had their first factory. Wow, a lot of fun memories, including the time when Karen and Kris got caught stealing from the 5 & dime and Dad marched them back to confess their crime and receive their punishment.... After brunch, we all headed over to watch Paxton take on the Rams and continue their undefeated season.... YES

What a HANDSOME crew.....

It doesn't get any better than being with your family and watching a little football....

This is the funnest thing we have done all day...

St. George Marathon - 2011 (7 is NOT Heaven)

St.George is such a GREAT place and this week it was FULL of marathon runners. Tara was excited to run her 7th marathon and hopefully qualify for Boston, with a time of 3:35.... However, sometimes the stars are just not aligned and when running 26.2 miles you just don't know what the body might do or NOT do..... keep running and remember, it's NOT the destination, but THE JOURNEY that counts.

It's important to get the proper amount of sleep before you can cheer on your partner...

Prior to meeting Tara at the finish line, the boys went for a ride....

....... however, Scott's plan of riding to Veoy and down the course with the runners was STOPPED by the police and so we had to hitch a round back with Lonnie (local rancher) and Sheriff Ted to get back in time to see Tara finish the race..... As a sister I have taken it upon myself to spread the good news about Morgan. Come October 14th 2011 she will have to give up the Wood name for another. Morgan is engaged!!!

Adam Akers proposed to Morgan in his backyard. Under a canopy of lights he had made her french toast (her favorite food) and Horchata (ask Joey to explain what that is... he was a Arizona boy for awhile!) To complete the whole ambiance he got her favorite flowers and played her favorite music in the background while he got down on one knee and proposed!

The Ring is fabulous. Pear shape diamond set on a rose gold band. Adam did a wonderful job picking it out with the help of a great mother and sister in law to help.

Yesterday was a fun/great day with Dad, Danny, & Shawn. It's not often you get to play golf with your 83 year dad and have him beat you, but what's NEW... :-) However, I do need to let all you Wood Blog readers know that even though I was having an off day on the course, my production/video skill are increasingly improving. Danny was having a pretty good round and I was only one down going into the last hole and we went double for the WIN! OLD MEN RULE! (Danny, you need to work on you video skills, as all of you will see)

On May 3rd, Randy closed the BEST sell of his life and asked Anna Storey, Davis High School/UoU graduate to marry him and she said, YES! We are so excited to have Anna become a part of the Wood family and as you will see, Randy is a very lucky young man. Aug 9th is the BIG day!

Upon arrival to the Storey's family cherry orchard, here is the message that met Anna for an exciting evening/picnic.

Thursday of this week, in an effort to train for LOTOJA, I left SimTek Fence in Orem, UT at 5:30pm. We had a pool on how long it was going to take to get home and how many honks I was going to get from BYU fans. Read on to see the results and the beauty.

While some of you were sleeping, there were a "few" of us that decided to bring in the Spring with a Bang. It started with a 4:30am wake-up, (sorry Jodi, we tried to be quiet), a little breakfast, and 1/2 marathon and a ride from Leeds to Zions and back, well not all the way back. (Many thanks for the rescue after 80.66 miles)

The original Fernwood Chocolate Mint Sandwich is back.

Richard “Dick” Wood reclaimed responsibility for Fernwood’s signature candy earlier this year, said his wife Lorraine. Dick Wood is the son of George and Leah Wood who founded the candy company in 1947.

For many years, Fernwood candies have been manufactured by another company, she said during a recent telephone interview.

However, when the quality of the iconic sandwich began to decline, Dick Wood went through the legal process to regain ownership. Now he is the sole manufacturer.

Fernwood sells numerous chocolates, but it is the thin layer of green mint, sandwiched between two layers of chocolate, that has made the Utah confectioner “world famous.”

Consumers should be aware that there are still many candy boxes made by the previous manufacturer on store shelves.

Lorraine Wood said consumers should look for the word “original” on the package to ensure you are getting the new version.

The sandwich, which arrives in stores this week, comes in two varieties, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. It is sold in most grocery stores in Utah including Smith’s Food & Drug and Associated Food Stores. Boxes also are available at Macy’s Department stores. An 8-ounce box costs about $7.50.

I went and saw Paxton and London play on the ice!

Pax plays hockey and he is freaking awesome at it! I am the proudest auntie ever! Paxton turns 6 on March 5th! I'm so sad to see him grow up, even though he does get cuter and cuter!
We love to rock and roll in my car, I turned on rap and Paxton was like "YEA that's what I'm talking about! " He also loves to rock out on my guitar hero! I have to strum for him though but we have a rockin good time!

What a poser! Shes in the middle of her ICe class and she sees that I'm taking a picture and she turns and smiles! HAHA gotta love it! Isn't she just so stinking adorable! She also loves to rock and roll with pax and me. She is getting so smart for being only 3 1/2 she can write letters! I was shocked that she can write my name!

Sara showed us how she rides horses! Shes awesome at it, and looks so beautiful up on that huge beast! I was too nervous to try, and I'm allergic! I was sneezing all night on Thanksgiving but dinner was amazing! thanks family for the fun!

Hello everyone,

So I am officially posting my FIRST BLOG. I am actually a Facebook.com ADDICT, so I do most of my stuff on facebook, so that is where all my photos and stuff are. But I recently found out that anyone can see my photos even though you aren't on facebook.

I just got back from a MEXICAN REVIERA CRUISE that I went on with Firstline Security, the company I sold alarms systems for in the summer. Because I sold over 75 accounts, I qualified for a free cruise, so I gotta go from San Diego down to Acapulco, then up to Ixtapa, Manzanillo, and then back to San Diego.

It was 8 days of fun in the sun and I know that I am super white at first, but I added to that and got a tan, so no worries. I uploaded a bunch of pics from my cruise and from the some other fall activities. Check 'em out by clicking the links provided.

Well, it's official. Todd and Andrea are old. Yup, our baby turned 18 this week. We no longer have any children at home, and can I just say, it happened waaaaaay to fast !

We celebrated with a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill.

Then we had cake and ice cream at home with Morgan's friends.

It was a fun day filled mostly with Morgan saying:

"I don't want to go to school. It's my birthday."

It was great to see our family again! The girl cousins spent one hour talking and laughing so hard, it actually made Jeni cry! We loved seeing you all, and catching up on relationships. Our 55 foot tree has died and quotes to take it down came in at $450!! Do you really think I would pay that much? I can do that! I climbed our 20 foot ladder and realized the tree was still really tall, so I sucked in my muffintop and shimmied up the trunk and started to do the damage! Four of the five cuts fell as calculated, the fifth cut fell straight down and I was hanging onto the tree for dear life. Now that it is all down, I am feeling pretty cool and $450 richer. So, if anyone needs tree trimming help....I charge $450!

WHO'S IN? I talked to Kris Moss about planning some type of get-together to celebrate Grandpa's 80th Bday. If she and Karen and Connie can't do it all, I volunteer. It doesn't have to be a huge Country Club affair ... just a dinner or something with the kids and grandkids.
His Bday is October 21. Any ideas? A fun restaurant? Will it be too cold to meet in a park? Anyone want to volunteer their home? (Ours is a little far away for everyone.) Blog. Blog. Blog. Let's get something going.

Tara's Finally Blogging!!

Here I am....for some reason my dad seems to only like to comment on Max....What? Just because he is the good looking one in the family doesn't mean you have to leave out your other children. Haha, just kidding. But here is a little bit of what I have been up to this summer.

Two of the funnest things I have done this summer are the first the Wasatch Back Relay which was in June. I ran 177 miles, from Logan to Park City, in a relay team of 12 girls. Each girl had to run 3 different legs, ranging from 4-8 miles each. My 3 legs totaled 18.5 miles. We took 29th out of 183 all-women teams. I can't wait until next June to do it again!!!

Second, I flew to Minneapolis just this last weekend to accompany Randall on his way home from his summer sales job selling security systems door-to-door. We had tons of fun playing in Minnesota and then we were even able to detour a little on our way home to see some sights....

The reconstructed jail is INSIDE that octagon part of the Liberty Jail visitors center. It was really neat to freshen up on some of our church history and visit places like this.

Having cousin camp with the Earls, William & I spent the week with Jen & the kids, and had a great time being mommies together. The week went too fast and we are looking forward to our next trip home.

We were lucky to have MOLLY & DANNY come stay with us for a couple of days. We went to an Angels game, spent two days being beach bums, went shopping at the great malls we have, and ate fattening In & Out hamburgers. It was too much fun, William loves Danny & Molly and they are soooo good to him, they will be great parents some day-but not anytime soon. :)

We are now back to our regular routine, things have slowed down a little. It is nice to have some alone time together, but we sure miss spending time with family, and william sure misses all the attention.

This is really fun --I have loved seeing all the entries and pictures.
The toilet paper job was the best job molly and i have seen.
We are glad it wasn't our house - it used to be our house that was the target for either
TP or egg tossing and what a job the clean up was. Max enjoy your high school days.
Molly is looking through High School pictures and remembering how much fun those days were.

I'm watching the rare event of rain out my Arizona window. We have finally reached the Monsoon season here in the desert. It's a welcome relief after the 117 degree temperatures we have endured for the last month. It's interesting ... just when we think we can't take one more day baking in the heat, the Lord blesses us with cooler temperatures and humidity. We are rewarded for our endurance. I am finishing my bachelor's degree at BYU with my final course of algebra. This is my fourth attempt. I have struggled through every second of it. Right now I feel like I am in the third week of my 117 degree endurance test. My hope is that in one more month, I will feel relief as I pass this course and receive the reward for my endurance. Let the Monsoon come!
